Message from the Founder - Truce Integrated Development Organization

Founder's Message

"As the founder of Truce Integrated Development Organization, my vision is to drive transformative change that uplifts vulnerable communities across Ethiopia. Guided by my background in social work, psychology, and police science, and deeply rooted in a cultural commitment to helping others, I established this civil society organization to serve women, youth, and children at the national level."

The foundation of this work is my dissertation research on refugee women in Kebribeyah Camp, which revealed the profound challenges of gender-based violence and the urgent need for psychosocial support. These findings became the cornerstone of TIDO’s mission: to empower the most underserved groups, strengthen resilience, and create pathways for dignity, protection, and opportunity.

This vision has been substantiated and enriched by the great ideas, experiences, and unwavering commitment of my friends and colleagues, who now serve as board members and part of the governance body of the organization. Through their volunteerism, wisdom, and dedication, they have helped transform TIDO into a collective effort that reflects shared values and community-driven leadership.

Together, through evidence-based programs and collaborative initiatives, we are committed to building a society where every individual can thrive."
